Eighth Miracle
[backdated to before Lion gets offed...sob]
[If you hear Lion's voice over the phone, you may notice something different. That is, Lion sounds angry. Genuinely angry, not just irritated. This is a very rare thing indeed.]
I refuse to take part in this. If they think they can convince me so easily to take another person's life, they have another thing coming. I don't care how many promises they make or how often they try to guilt-trip me--[There's a pause and a rustle of paper over the phone as he moves the letter he received out of sight] I am not going to subject myself to their whims.
And that goes for the rest of you. This is obviously just another trick this place likes to play on us. Is it really worth it to kill another person just to get your things back, or for some kind of mysterious "reward"? [Lion doesn't doubt that there are people here who think this way*cough*Bernkastel*cough*, but he wants to make it clear that he doesn't agree.] Or because that letter keeps reminding you about the people you care about? What would they think, if they knew you were killing people in their name? [Lion voice rises at this, but then he takes a deep breath to calm himself and he continues.] If you've already made this decision, then fine. But don't blame anyone else if you find yourself regretting it.
[Filtered to Jessica, Battler, Maria (or any Ushiromiya by extension), Japan, Taiwan, Kay and anyone else Lion knows well]
...please stay safe.
[After that, Lion will hang up, but feel free to answer back.]

The truth can easily be manipulated from a certain standpoint.
Bernkastel probably knew this much...Tch!

Ange was trapped along with me. She...didn't take the revelation well.
And Bernkastel probably would have killed me if Will-san hadn't stepped in...

[He's seriously pissed off now. He spent too much time goofing off here. ]

Fortunately, we have the upper hand in Mayfield. We can find some way to keep Bernkastel at bay. Sheesh...why does she like causing trouble so much? Cats are supposed to be cute.

I'm not sure...it seems as though witches are fond of toying with people's lives to stave off boredom, aren't they? But hopefully we can hold her off while she doesn't have her abilities...

The value of life is always the same. Bernkastel's trying to remove that right. Tch, she's as cruel as ever.

You're one of the few people I can talk to about this kind of thing anyways.
[He smiles in a friendly manner.]
I never felt comfortable discussing my predicaments with other characters that reside on the lower plane. There are some things they shouldn't be aware of.
Beatrice's true nature is one of them.
